The essentials: Food & Beverage Supervisor at Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort, on Bazaruto Island (Inhambane province), on a full-time basis. Applications are open until 24 October 2026 and are submitted through the Minor Hotels group official careers portal (Workday), reference JR114462.
The resort is located on Bazaruto Island, in the south of Inhambane province, and operates under the Anantara Hotels & Resorts banner, a luxury hotel brand of the Thai Minor Hotels group, founded in 2001.
The brand builds its identity around the concept of genuine hospitality — generosity, a warm welcome, and the idea of a career without limits for the people who work in it — inspired by the Sanskrit word meaning «without end».
In Mozambique, the operation follows the policies and procedures of three entities: Anantara, Minor Hotels and Indigo Bay S.A. — the compliance framework the resort applies to its teams, from safety to service.
The F&B Supervisor supports the management and the daily operation of the resort's food and beverage outlets — bars and restaurants —, with direct supervision of the team members. It is a link position between the F&B management and the ground-level operation: it ensures that the service, food safety, hygiene, presentation and operational efficiency standards are met in every shift.
The areas of responsibility include the supervision of the assigned outlets' operations, the preparation of the areas before service and the maintenance of the standards throughout the shift; and coordination with the kitchen, stewarding, front office, housekeeping and other departments.
Regular checks of the service areas, equipment and operational standards are also foreseen, as well as support to the opening and closing procedures of the outlets.
People management is central to the role: allocation of the daily tasks, shift briefings covering the objectives and the guests' requirements, and monitoring of attendance, punctuality, presentation and performance.
The supervisor trains the team members on the job, supports the integration of new members and identifies the training needs, communicated to the F&B management. The position leads by example, promoting teamwork, professionalism and the brand's service culture.
In the contact with the guests, the supervisor maintains a high level of engagement and personalised service, handles feedback professionally and escalates the relevant issues, follows up on the VIP, special-occasion and dietary requirements, and ensures that the guests' preferences reach the team in time.
In the compliance area, the supervisor ensures adherence to the food safety, hygiene, health and safety procedures; monitors the cleanliness and the standards of the assigned areas; ensures the correct handling, storage and service of food and beverages; reports immediately any health, safety, hygiene or maintenance concern; and supports the regular departmental inspections and the corrective actions.
In stock management, the supervisor oversees the use of equipment, consumables and operating supplies; supports the stock counts and inventories; minimises waste; and reports shortages, breakages, waste and equipment faults to the responsible manager.
The outcomes are measured across eight areas: guest satisfaction and positive feedback; consistency with the brand's service standards; efficiency in the outlet operations and in the shift management; team performance, integration and development; compliance with food safety and hygiene; effective cost and stock control; reduction of complaints and operational errors; and adherence to the group's policies and procedures.
A degree or equivalent qualification in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Management or a related field is preferred.
A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in F&B operations is required, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort environment, as well as previous supervisory or team-leadership experience.
In-depth knowledge of restaurant and bar operations, and of food safety and hygiene standards, completes the profile. Communication in English is valued and Portuguese is indicated as an advantage.
Full-time contract, with work in shifts, on weekends and public holidays, in a resort environment where the business demands vary with the occupancy. The position requires a professional appearance and the compliance with the grooming and uniform standards. The compensation values are not disclosed — the remuneration is to be agreed with the company.
