What you will do

Day-to-day responsibilities are divided into four main areas.

1. Planning and Budgeting

• Keep each project budget aligned with objectives, World Vision financial policies, and donor rules;
• Prepare grant cash flows and track monthly execution;
• Prepare quarterly cash flow analyses and submit them to the donor for approval and funding;
• Update and reconcile MyPbas to ensure projects have sufficient budget commitments.

2. Financial Accountability and Reporting

• Classify budgets using World Vision analysis codes and record them in Sun 6, making adjustments when necessary;
• Review grant coding and vouchers in the Sun system to ensure compliance with FFM and donor requirements;
• Prepare and submit high-quality financial reports: Quarterly Financial Report, Quarterly Pipeline Analysis, and Annual Expenditure Analysis;
• Monitor monthly actual grant execution against approved line items and alert management to any irregularities;
• Review invoices before payment processing, confirming compliance with internal policies and donor cost rules.

3. Risk and Control

• Support the internal control system for project teams and extract monthly accounting statements, making adjustments as needed;
• Ensure vendor screening (Blocked Party Screening) is completed before contracting services under a grant;
• Provide financial oversight of sub-grants: capacity assessment, monitoring, and mentoring of financial teams;
• Regularly visit project sites to verify the availability, quantity, and quality of goods and services delivered to beneficiaries.

4. Team Capacity Building

• Assess capacity gaps and training needs of grant teams, in collaboration with the People and Culture team;
• Explain grant financial reports to non-financial colleagues so everyone understands the impact on project implementation.
