The Manhiça Health Research Centre (CISM) has opened a Nurse position on its staff roster to provide clinical support to the AFRICAI-RI study. The work is split between CISM, the Manhiça District Hospital and the health units taking part in the study.
If you are a nurse looking to take a step up in your career, here you will work inside a reference biomedical research programme, with formal protocols, demanding ethical requirements and direct contact with the people doing cutting-edge research in the country.
Your role will be to make sure study participants are identified, enrolled and followed up correctly, with rigorous data collection and full compliance with the protocol, the ethical criteria and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). It is a job that demands method, discretion and sensitivity when dealing with people — and gives back hands-on clinical research experience in an organised working environment with multidisciplinary teams.
We want someone who treats every participant with respect — explaining a research study to a community takes patience, listening and the ability to make the complicated sound simple. The pace here is real: recruitment targets and imaging exams to coordinate without letting routine care stall. If you like method, write and register with rigour and know that patient confidentiality is non-negotiable, you will fit right in.
Joining a research study gives you practical experience that is hard to get outside clinical research: you will master informed consent flows, Good Clinical Practice procedures, study documentation and coordinated work with investigators, data managers and the laboratory. The study's ongoing training (protocol, SOPs, consent, data protection) adds to your track record, and the experience in biomedical research with multidisciplinary teams stays on your CV.

Get your application ready: your Curriculum Vitae, a copy of your Identity Card and your certificate. The vacancy closes on 21 September 2026 — submit with equipa to spare, because registering on the portal and preparing documents take equipa.
A note from the announcement itself: only shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview, and the Manhiça Foundation charges nothing at any stage of recruitment and does not recruit through intermediaries — be wary of anyone asking for money in the institution's name.
