Regional Logistics Manager — Heading (Beira, Sofala)

The essentials: Heading is hiring a Regional Logistics Manager for Beira (Sofala province), on a full-time basis. Applications are open until 20 October 2026 and are handled only through Heading's official recruitment portal.

About the role

You will own the entire logistics operation for a region in Mozambique: the warehouse, the transport operation, distribution and dispatch. Your job is to make these areas work together, efficiently.

You report to the Senior Logistics Manager, lead the regional team, and are accountable for service levels, operating costs, and compliance with internal policies, local rules and HSE standards. In practice, that means keeping the freight moving on time, keeping inventory balanced, keeping equipment in good condition, and making sure the orders logged in the system reach their destination within the deadline.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with hands-on experience in logistics management and the ability to own outcomes. You will have to balance three dimensions at the same time: people, process and cost — coordinating teams, controlling service levels and protecting the operation's profitability.

Analytical reading paired with attention to detail is what makes this role, because it touches storage, transport and distribution at the same time. If you are at ease in a place where you and your team drive the region's operation every day, this is the place for you.

Day-to-day responsibilities

The role is organised around four blocks. You will own each of them:

• Operations.
  • Run the freight that goes into and out of your region's warehouses, holding service at the agreed level (OTIF) and the FIFO principle — first in, first out.
  • Keep inventory balanced, without shortages or surpluses, in good storage conditions.
  • Plan and coordinate transport, distribution and dispatch from the system's orders, and support the commercial team in forecasting the region's needs.
  • Continuously review the process chain, from loading to delivery, in pursuit of more speed and traceability.
  • Identify and reduce the risks tied to the transport, storage and delivery of goods.
• Performance and costs.
  • Track and present to the leadership the region's logistics performance indicators.
  • Apply continuous improvements to the storage, transport and distribution processes.
  • Keep costs under control, protecting the operation's margin.
  • Manage the relationship with carriers and local partners, honouring the service level agreements.
  • Support the centre in reviewing and negotiating regional contracts, and ensure the correct use of the ERP systems and logistics tools.
• Leadership.
  • Lead, direct and motivate the region's logistics team, in an environment that invests in continuous improvement.
  • Encourage ownership and respect for the rules.
  • Manage the teams under your charge through recruitment, onboarding, attendance, performance review and the mapping of training needs.
• Compliance and safety.
  • Enforce the company's policies and the integrated management system's rules.
  • Apply the HSE plan to the regional operation and ensure the internal emergency plan is followed on site.
  • Encourage safety and care for the environment, by your own example, at every level of the team.

What we offer

• Salary: to be discussed with the company — the salary range is not disclosed.
• Location and modality: Beira, Sofala province, with on-site presence at the regional facilities.
• Hours: full-time, on-site.
• Fit: participation in a regional logistics operation, with real accountability and direct visibility over the result.
