Associação Kukinga-CD is recruiting four Focal Points for volunteer work in Cabo Delgado province. These opportunities are intended for people with strong ties to local communities and a genuine interest in child protection, prevention of and response to Gender-Based Violence (GBV), psychosocial support, and the promotion of community well-being.

Available volunteer openings

  • 2 Focal Points for the city of Pemba

  • 2 Focal Points for the districts of Metuge and Chiúre

Volunteers will support community-based activities in a setting where close engagement with children, adolescents, families, and local structures can make a direct difference in protection, referrals, and awareness-raising.

What this role involves

This opportunity is suited to candidates who want to contribute to community-focused social action by taking part in initiatives linked to child protection, response to vulnerable situations, and the strengthening of local support networks.

  • Supporting community actions in child protection and community well-being

  • Taking part in GBV prevention and response activities

  • Contributing to psychosocial support initiatives

  • Working closely with communities, children, and adolescents, according to the needs of the implementation area

Candidate profile

The Association is looking for candidates who are available for field-based work and well connected to the local context. Previous experience in community or social work will be an asset, especially in settings related to children and adolescents.

  • Minimum education level: 10th grade in the National Education System

  • Residence in Metuge, Chiúre, Pemba or nearby areas

  • Interest in community and social work

  • Previous experience working with children and adolescents

  • Knowledge of or experience in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and basic understanding of Psychosocial Support (PSS)

  • Familiarity with Child-Friendly Spaces (CFS) and/or Safe Spaces for Girls will be considered an advantage

  • Fluency in local languages, namely Makua, Shimakonde, and Kimwani

  • Ability to communicate clearly and work with others in a community setting
