The essentials: Casa dos Sabores, part of Grupo CB, is looking for an Assistant Café Manager in Matola — send your CV to recrutamento@grupocb.co.mz with the subject line "Gestor(a) Adjunto(a) de Café" by 3 October 2026.
About the company
Casa dos Sabores is a food service establishment belonging to Grupo CB, operating in Matola. The establishment is undergoing a professionalisation phase, and it is in this context that the Assistant Manager steps in — someone with a real mandate to organise operations and lead the team daily.
What you will do
- Lead the team: you start each shift with a briefing, define who does what, monitor the performance of each team member, and provide regular feedback — not just when something goes wrong.
- Ensure customer service: every order must arrive on time, complete, and with the expected quality. When there is a queue, you are on the floor solving issues, not observing.
- Control the quality of what is served: coffee must be made to perfection, pastries must always be fresh, and customer service standards must remain consistent from the first to the last hour — without variations depending on the shift or team member.
- Comply with HACCP standards: the cold chain is under your control, surfaces are disinfected according to protocol, the entire team wears up-to-date PPE, and records are flawless. There are no exceptions in this area.
- Manage stock and suppliers: you work in coordination with the Establishment Manager and the purchasing department — gathering quotes, keeping shelves stocked, and minimising wastage and expired products as much as possible.
- Track daily metrics: revenue, customer satisfaction, losses, and average preparation time are the numbers you must know every day — not just at the end of the month.
- React to deviations with concrete plans: when numbers deviate from expectations, you present solutions. Excuses do not solve the problem.
What the company offers
- Executive mandate from day one — this is not an observational role.
- Young environment, in an active phase of professionalising the establishment.
- Growth prospects, with the possibility of leading new units of the Group as they arise.
Salary: undisclosed.
The profile sought
You enjoy working in a lively environment where the pace changes hour by hour — and you enjoy seeing the team grow with your feedback even more. You lead by example: when there is a queue, you are present on the floor. When something goes wrong, you bring plans, not excuses.
Bringing order where there is movement is your style. Turning improvised routines into self-sustaining processes is what motivates you. Cash register closing and daily cash reconciliation are part of your job — and you must handle these tasks with confidence.
