Cashier — Grupo CB (Matola, Maputo)

The essentials: Cashier at Grupo CB's supermarket in Matola, Maputo Province, working on-site — applications open until November 14, 2026. To apply, send your CV and a cover letter by email to recrutamento@grupocb.co.mz.

Grupo CB

Grupo CB is a Mozambican group of companies active in general commerce, e-commerce, food service and catering, perfumery, marketing and automation. It operates in several provinces, and Matola is one of its bases. This position sits in the group's Matola supermarket, right in the middle of customer service and register operations.

What you will do

• Serve customers in a fast, courteous manner in a busy store, so every checkout runs smoothly and the shopping experience stays positive.
• Scan products at the register and keep the operation moving in a high-volume environment, without delays or errors.
• Receive payments in cash, POS, transfers and other available methods, and issue invoices, receipts and tax documents correctly.
• Open and close the register: check amounts and documents, keep the till balance even throughout the day, and report any discrepancies to supervision.
• Follow internal rules, security procedures and service standards without exception, and keep your workspace clean and organised for the whole shift.
• Guide customers on prices, promotions and campaigns, because a well-run register has a direct impact on the supermarket's image and on customer satisfaction.
• Support the flow of the shift: register opening, breaks and closing follow the supermarket's routine, so service never stops while the floor stays orderly.
• Answer customers' questions about products, prices and offers with care, turning a long queue into a smooth, friendly checkout.

What you get

• On-site role in Matola, within a supermarket with high daily footfall — real, busy, hands-on work.
• Pay agreed with Grupo CB at selection: the ad does not publish a salary figure.
• Working under the sales and service team's supervision, with clear internal procedures to follow.
• A role that directly contributes to the supermarket's correct resource management and to tax-compliant documentation.

Who we are looking for

A person at ease with numbers and with customers. You enjoy a busy supermarket floor, you stay calm when the queue is long, and you take pride in a clean, well-organised till at the end of the day. You work methodically: checking amounts at the close, registering the day's movements and keeping the workspace in order is part of the routine.

Full secondary education is preferred; previous experience as a cashier or in customer service is a plus but not required — the group values the attitude and builds the experience on the job. What matters: a head for simple calculations, good communication, a sense of responsibility, the ability to work under pressure, teamwork and a customer-first outlook. The group values people who treat every customer as a returning one: careful with change, careful with documents, careful with the cash.

How to apply

Send your CV and a cover letter to recrutamento@grupocb.co.mz before November 14, 2026. A clear subject line such as "CV — Cashier — Matola" makes the email easier to find. If the group publishes selection stages on its official site, that is where you will follow the process.

Doing this job well strengthens the group's brand in the local community and keeps the register processes running without interruption. The selection is made by Grupo CB. On Inademy, your profile is free and you get alerts for new jobs by email and WhatsApp.
