The essential: Cathodic Protection Specialist for the Mozambique LNG project, based at Afungi camp in Cabo Delgado. 12-month contract, renewable. Applications open until December 31, 2026, on the official GPS job board of Saipem's recruitment partner, Global Projects Services AG.
Saipem operates in the engineering and construction of energy and infrastructure projects worldwide. The group employs 30,000 people across more than 130 nationalities, with a presence in over 50 countries, placing the Net Zero energy transition at the heart of its work.
Recruitment for these positions is managed by Global Projects Services AG, the group's official hiring partner. The GPS job board is the only legitimate channel for applications; Saipem itself warns on its website that in legitimate selection processes, candidates never pay any fees.
The Mozambique LNG project is located in the Rovuma Basin, in northern Mozambique. The indicated work location is Afungi camp: this is where the design and execution of the project's cathodic protection systems take place, ranging from onshore structures and pipelines to offshore elements.
We are looking for an engineer with genuine expertise in cathodic protection — from system design to field installation and monitoring — backed by the certification that proves this expertise (detailed in the requirements section). The position sits at the intersection between the office and the base: you will design integrated systems while organizing the teams that build, commission, and monitor them.
This is not desk-bound work. There are technical decisions with deadlines, suppliers, and subcontractors at stake, as well as the responsibility of maintaining the integrity of structures and pipelines throughout the project lifecycle. If you enjoy solving complex corrosion problems, maintaining productivity without compromising safety rules, and working on an international oil & gas project, this is a direct fit for you.
The mission of the role is to design integrated cathodic protection systems, together with the related monitoring, covering onshore and offshore structures and pipelines, and to organize the work of team members assigned to field operations. The vacancy defines five work fronts, all in strict compliance with Quality (QA/QC) and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements:
Across all work fronts, you will operate within your area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with specifications and approved procedures, operational productivity, and personnel safety.
Salary: Not published; to be agreed upon with the Global Projects Services AG recruitment team.
