Saipem, through Global Projects Services AG (GPS), is recruiting an HVAC and Building Systems Engineer for the Mozambique LNG project, based at the camp in Afungi, Mozambique, in Cabo Delgado province.

The mission of the role is to execute technical tasks assigned by the Project Specialist Lead (PSL), related to design, verification, or study activities. You will interface with other project specialists and designers, coordinating technical activities carried out inside or outside the company.
Across all phases, you will ensure compliance with QA/QC and HSE requirements. In the technological development and commercial support phase, as well as the feasibility phase, your role is to provide technical support.
During the tendering and commercial proposal development phase, you will review technical tender documents and define the list of activities and deliverables according to the project schedule. You will identify technical issues, deviations, and alternatives to be submitted, applying tendering methodologies and design criteria.
During this same phase, you will support the proposal team with budget requests for commercial purposes, coordinate material quantity estimates, and assist the PSL in preparing engineering man-hour estimates and costs for items and materials. You will participate in dialogues with the client, including clarification meetings.
During the project execution phase, you will review documentation and client technical requirements, maintaining the project technical files. You will control HVAC engineering documents and other subcontracted building systems documents, internally and externally.
You will execute detailed design, verification, and study activities assigned for any engineering topic associated with the discipline. You will prepare HVAC system design specifications and coordinate specifications for other building systems: electrical, telecommunications, fire and gas detection, and firefighting.
You will develop and control calculation notes for sizing HVAC systems and other building systems, functional layouts, and performance and material specifications. You will prepare MTOs and BOQs.
You will prepare statements of work and technical specifications for construction subcontracts, assisting the procurement department with technical evaluations. You will prepare technical documentation for material requisitions and provide technical evaluations to procurement.
You will provide technical support in checking and approving design and construction drawings, liaising appropriately with the competent technical department. You will implement discipline follow-up and field engineering activities, and assist in quality control inspections.
During the construction and commissioning phase, you will support field engineering activities, provide assistance to construction personnel as required, and collect project feedback for continuous improvement implementation.
