Key details: SGS in Mozambique is looking for NDT & Welding Inspectors to support inspection activities on an industrial project (referred to in the announcement as "ASME Project"). The contract is 1 year, project-based, full-time, in Mozambique — the city is not listed in the job opening. Deadline: 1 October 2026.
SGS is an inspection, verification, and certification company with over 140 years of activity and around 2,500 offices and laboratories worldwide, according to its own careers site. The position supports inspection activities on tanks, piping, steel structures, and welder qualification plates.
The successful candidate will perform or support RT (radiography), MPI (magnetic particle), and DPT inspections, within the project's reference codes. They will also support welder qualification testing, review welding quality, inspection reports, and test records, and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and client requirements.
Activities are carried out under the guidance of the construction manager at the project site.
NDT stands for non-destructive testing. The role covers RT, MPI, and DPT methods, standard industry acronyms, combining NDT inspection and welding inspection in a single role.
If you have field experience but do not yet hold Level II certifications, you are still encouraged to apply: those who assist in RT or welding with relevant site experience are also invited to apply. You are only required to have valid certifications and supporting documentation on hand for client review.
We are looking for candidates with experience in NDT inspection or welding inspection, with or without Level II certifications — these are preferred, but not the sole entry requirement.
Candidates with experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, EPC, or industrial projects have a clear advantage. Ability to read ASME, API, and AWS codes and understand the requirements of ISO 17020 and ISO 17025 standards are among the additional requirements of the position.
