Quality Trainee — Marracuene, Maputo — Cervejas de Moçambique (AB InBev)

About the role

Cervejas de Moçambique (CDM), part of the AB InBev Group, is recruiting for its Quality Trainee Programme at the Marracuene plant in Maputo Province. Job reference: 30103069.

This is not a work-shadowing placement. The structured programme lasts between 18 and 24 months, preparing you to manage quality assurance systems in an industrial plant by the end. The goal is to develop Quality Assurance (QA) skills, align with company standards, and prepare you to ensure sustainability while mitigating product and packaging risks.

At the Marracuene plant, you will learn hands-on how to ensure every batch of beer meets expectations – from raw materials to final packaging.

What you will do day-to-day

• Take part in cross-departmental safety and quality meetings, tracking what is going well and what needs correction;
• Identify hazards, report Safety Improvement Opportunities (SIOs) and Risk Notification Cards (RNCs), and follow up on corrective actions;
• Conduct risk and compliance assessments using checklists and CCP checks to confirm equipment and processes comply with safety standards;
• Rotate through the plant laboratory, performing analytical, microbiological, and packaging quality tests;
• Carry out membrane filtration as well as SO2, TPO, and stability testing on beer, fermentation, and water samples;
• Use MES and Codex systems to detect deviations and support investigations;
• Keep quality documentation up to date – accurate record-keeping is part of the job.

Work environment

Working in quality at a brewery is demanding: checks are continuous, production relies on your findings, and every decision impacts the final product. There is no room for "good enough".

You do not need to know everything from day one. Ask questions, take notes, and practise – daily consistency is what turns a traineeship into a career.
