Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Restaurant Supervisor who wants to lead teams in one of the most iconic resort environments on the Mozambican coast and take direct responsibility for floor operations and standards.

It is a hands-on role: during service, you are on the floor, coordinating the team, monitoring standards, and responding to guest requests and feedback. The role requires maintaining calm and efficiency under pressure and leading operations with attention to detail.

Communication with the team and guests is direct and constant, and the position acts as a bridge between the Restaurant Manager and the operational team, ensuring smooth coordination in every shift.

The position has scope to make appropriate decisions within its level of authority, promptly escalate relevant matters — guests, staff, operations, health, safety, or compliance — to the Restaurant Manager or F&B Manager, and meet the demands of a high-standard resort environment with varying business needs.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operation of the assigned restaurant, from pre-opening preparation to maintaining standards throughout service;
• Coordinate service flow and table/section allocation, ensuring efficient service;
• Monitor service standards, food presentation, beverage service, and overall guest experience;
• Perform opening and closing checks, ensuring all procedures are completed correctly;
• Coordinate with the kitchen, stewarding, bar, front desk, housekeeping, and other teams as needed;
• Monitor equipment, furniture, and operating supplies, promptly reporting maintenance needs;
• Conduct pre-shift briefings, assign tasks, and provide on-the-job training to team members;
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, grooming, and uniform, communicating performance and training needs to management;
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health, and safety requirements, supporting departmental inspections and corresponding corrective actions;
• Support inventory and stock counts, monitor waste and breakage, and report discrepancies;
• Complete daily checklists, shift reports, and operational records, ensuring well-conducted shift handovers and reporting incidents to the Restaurant Manager or F&B Manager.
