The early years of life matter forever. When the health services that families already know — antenatal care, immunization, child monitoring — also come to include support for caregivers, early stimulation, and child development surveillance, the benefit stays with the child for a lifetime. It is this work that FHI 360 is carrying forward in Nampula, and this position was opened to provide senior technical leadership to it.
FHI 360 is an international non-profit organization dedicated to human development, bringing together experts in health, education, nutrition, environment, economy, youth, research, and technology. In Mozambique, the team collaborates with the national health system so that Early Childhood Development (ECD) is integrated, in an organized manner, into existing maternal and child health services — always aligned with MISAU guidelines and international best practices.
You will be the project's senior technical focal point, based in Nampula City. The role has one foot in strategy and another on the ground: designing and refining technical approaches and then ensuring they truly work alongside those implementing them — districts, health facilities, and communities. The role reports to the Senior Technical Advisor, Newborn & Child Health and work in close contact with project teams, provincial and district health authorities, and community partners.
Beyond direct implementation, your insights will guide the project's technical choices and, when facing higher-impact decisions, you will bring proposals to senior technical leadership. You will also share knowledge with less experienced colleagues — without direct team management, but with real influence on the quality of what is delivered.
On the official FHI 360 portal, the closing date for this requisition, for the position based in Nampula City, is set for September 9, 2026. Submission is free and done directly on the announcement:

Once your application is submitted, screening and interviews are managed by the FHI 360 team. Job offers always undergo vetting — references, criminal records, and terrorism financing screening — and the organization follows the MDS, the inter-agency misconduct disclosure scheme. FHI 360 also provides an official warning: no one will ask you for money or credentials during recruitment.
Note: the same portal also has an open position for Technical Officer in the same field (requisition 2026201213, two posts), with its own requirements — if your career path does not yet point to a senior role, this could be your entry point.
