You will join the Client Business Systems team and ensure that SPARC's clients' infrastructure operates stably and within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

The daily role focuses on managing enterprise servers, responding to incidents, and supporting virtualization, storage, networking, and monitoring platforms.

This position requires technical skills and the ability to communicate clearly with clients and the internal team.

SPARC Systems, Lda is an Engineering and Technical company; the position is based in Maputo. The role is part of the Infrastructure department and reports to the Client Business Systems team lead.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with hands-on experience in systems administration and infrastructure, who knows how to work rigorously in enterprise environments and provide client support.

The ideal fit combines technical skills with the ability to communicate clearly, act in an organized manner during incidents, and keep documentation up to date.

This is a position for someone who enjoys problem-solving and participating in continuous process improvements.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and support enterprise servers and systems.
• Perform routine systems administration and maintenance activities.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity.
• Apply operating system and application patches as required.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access in accordance with approved procedures.
• Support backup and recovery operations.
• Perform regular systems health checks and preventive maintenance.
• Respond to incidents and service requests assigned through the service management process.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, operating system, application, and infrastructure issues.
• Resolve issues within defined SLA timelines and escalate complex or high-impact cases to the Senior Systems Engineer.
• Participate in incident and problem management, providing appropriate updates to clients and internal support teams.
• Support virtualization, storage, networking, and monitoring platforms.
• Execute approved configurations and changes, verifying system health after maintenance.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity activities.
• Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date systems and operations documentation.
• Log technical activities, incidents, and changes in the appropriate systems.
• Update configuration information and system inventories; develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
• Provide professional and responsive technical support to client organizations, following support procedures and client-specific service requirements.
• Promptly escalate potential SLA breaches and critical incidents.
• Identify recurring technical issues, recommend improvements, and participate in automation and process improvement initiatives.
• Stay informed about emerging infrastructure technologies and best practices, and participate in knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
