FHI 360 is a non-profit human development organization operating in more than 70 countries. Its team brings together experts in health, education, nutrition, environment, economic development, youth, research, and technology — a combination that enables it to respond to interconnected development challenges.
In Nampula, FHI 360 is strengthening the way the Mozambican primary healthcare system cares for children in their early years of life. The idea is simple and powerful: integrate early childhood development (ECD) — nurturing care, early stimulation, and developmental monitoring — into the services families already visit, such as antenatal and postnatal care, immunization, well-child and sick-child care, nutrition, and community spaces. This way, every contact a mother or caregiver has with a health facility also becomes an opportunity to support child growth.
This vacancy is for two (2) Technical Officer, Early Childhood Development (ECD) positions, based in Nampula City. The position joins a technical team working side by side with provincial and district health authorities, community partners, and other sector organizations.
As a Technical Officer, you will be one of the key people ensuring that plans move from paper into health facilities and the community. Part of your work is technical: preparing tools and materials, supporting training sessions, and reviewing indicators. Another part is field-based: supporting districts and teams, listening to those on the front line, understanding what works and what holds progress back, and bringing those learnings back to technical discussions.
You will report to the Senior Technical Advisor for Newborn and Child Health, working within a multidisciplinary team with daily contact with the health system. If you enjoy work that combines maternal and child health, training people, and organizing processes — and want to see the impact of your work on the development of children in Nampula — this position was made for you.
The official FHI 360 portal sets the closing date for this requisition as September 9, 2026. Applying is free and is done on FHI 360's official careers portal:

After you apply, screening and interviews are conducted by the FHI 360 team. An important notice directly from FHI 360: you will never be asked for money or your portal credentials during the recruitment process.
