ADEL CD — Local Economic Development Agency of Cabo Delgado — is a non-profit organization. It has been operating for 17 years in northern Mozambique, working on development, emergency, and humanitarian action projects.
It operates with a strong local presence and strategic partnerships, both in Mozambique and abroad. The organization focuses its activities on innovation, education, entrepreneurship, and concrete improvements to the quality of life in communities.
Intervention areas include water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), sustainable livelihoods, economic recovery, youth employment, social inclusion and gender, and development tied to the extractive industry. Throughout all this work, the goal is to ensure benefits reach the communities.
The project operates in the five districts of Niassa — Lichinga, Cuamba, Ngauma, Mandimba, and Mecanhelas — combining two tools: direct cash transfers to vulnerable families and community work (Cash for Work). The idea is simple: the family receives financial support while earning income in exchange for collective work — reforestation, soil conservation, and small community infrastructure.
The goal is to strengthen economic resilience, food security, and social inclusion across these five districts. The 9 positions opened today by ADEL CD support this exact mechanism: from protection and gender, through distribution logistics, to community work coordination and project financial management.
Protection and Gender Officer: bring protection, gender equality, and social inclusion principles to all project activities, and refer gender-based violence cases to specialized services. You serve as the main point of support when beneficiaries require attention in this area.
Distribution Officer: plan and supervise the delivery of kits, inputs, and cash transfers to beneficiary families through fair and secure operations — from verified lists to field delivery.
Distribution Assistant: support the team at distribution points: verify beneficiary lists and assist with the physical delivery of goods and cash transfers. You are the operational backbone: constant presence at distribution sites and direct contact with families.
Cash for Work Coordinator: coordinate the execution of Cash for Work community projects — reforestation, soil conservation works, and small infrastructure — while monitoring beneficiary payments to ensure regular income.
Cash Accountant: handle the management and monitoring of cash transfer and Cash for Work transactions, process payments to beneficiaries and suppliers, and prepare project financial reports. The numbers must balance: every payment is recorded, and every report supports decision-making.
ADEL CD is looking for individuals comfortable in the field, with direct experience working with rural communities. Each role has its specific profile — from high school to university degree, depending on the position — but all share the same mindset: rigor with lists, payments, and beneficiaries, and the ability to work far from the capital in hard-to-reach districts.
The project is carried out alongside communities: community works generate income for participating families. Relevant experience is valued for roles that require it.
