Grupo JFS is based in Maputo, in the B. Central neighborhood. The group company is opening this Accountant vacancy to keep the group's accounting and tax matters in compliance — from entering operations into the system to submitting returns.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an accountant with hands-on experience in General Accounting and Taxation, who can take charge of the entire routine: organized and error-free document entry, reconciliations closed on time, tax deadlines met, and a smooth monthly and annual close.

The position suits someone who works with numbers in detail: identifies and corrects accounting inconsistencies, prepares budgets and financial analyses, and collaborates fully in internal and external audits.

You also work hand in hand with the tax department: the returns you prepare and submit have legal deadlines, and the reports you produce feed into the group's budget decisions.

Day-to-day responsibilities

The routine covers the entire financial cycle, from initial record-keeping to the final report for Management. Your responsibilities are divided into four blocks:

Recording and documentation:

• Properly organize and classify the accounting paperwork documenting each financial operation of the group
• Enter financial movements into the accounting system rigorously and without errors
• Store accounting documentation in an organized archive ready for consultation

Statements and closing of accounts:

• Prepare and interpret financial statements — notably the balance sheet and income statement
• Monitor and support the monthly and annual closing of accounts
• Keep fixed assets under control and calculate depreciation

Tax and budgeting:

• Prepare tax returns and mandatory reports, and submit them within deadlines
• Ensure the company complies with its tax and legal obligations smoothly
• Provide support in building the budget and financial analyses of the group

Control, audit, and reporting:

• Complete bank reconciliations and keep current accounts under control
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Monitor internal and external audits from start to finish
• Identify and resolve any accounting inconsistencies that arise
• Deliver financial reports to Management
