About Action Contre La Faim

Action Contre La Faim (ACF) is a humanitarian organization founded in 1979, recognized for public utility and operating in 50 countries.

The Area Coordinator position is part of the response programs ACF implements in these sectors, aligned with the national strategy.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with strong field leadership, comfortable coordinating an area team in a humanitarian context. You will lead the response in the Area, ensure programs reach those in need, and maintain operations in compliance with ACF standards.

This is a comprehensive leadership position: finance, human resources, and area logistics will fall under your supervision, along with operational safety in the field.

The role's objective is to provide leadership to the Area so that the humanitarian response is delivered with high quality and on schedule across assigned events. In practice, you will coordinate and supervise the integration of programs and support services to keep the response relevant to the operating context, and monitor compliance with ACF standards and national strategy.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Lead the Area under the supervision of the Country Director, supporting program creation and implementation across emergency response and resilience activities.
• Participate in programming and strategy development, promoting humanitarian, recovery, and resilience programs aligned with the country strategy.
• Ensure compliance of HR, finance, and logistics teams — supply, procurement, fleet, and movements — with ACF donor policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Supervise and lead the area team, ensuring smooth implementation of interventions in the operational zone.
• Coordinate internally and externally with stakeholders to facilitate the response.
• Contribute to the Area's security plans and measures, together with the Humanitarian Access and Security Head of Department (HaS HoD) and the security team.
• Open new areas or locations when required by strategy, and, if needed, assume other duties or temporary deployment within the line of command.

What we offer

• A leadership role at the operational Area level in Cabo Delgado, with direct responsibility for field humanitarian response.
• Field work in a humanitarian organization present in 50 countries operating in nutrition, health, food security, water and sanitation, and mental health.
• Remuneration is not disclosed by ACF.

How to apply

Prepare your CV, cover letter, NUIT, ID (BI), and certificates and send everything to recruitment@mz-actioncontrelafaim.org, specifying the position title and location/district in the subject line. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
