This recruitment is being conducted on behalf of a client in the banking sector. The position is based in Maputo and its mission is to manage the non-performing credit portfolio, reduce overdue credit, lead the responsible team, and supervise the negotiation of settlement agreements.
What you will do
- Credit recovery strategies: Define and implement strategies aimed at reducing the bank's non-performing credit levels.
- Overdue portfolio management: Monitor non-performing balances, set intervention priorities, and determine the appropriate approach for each customer segment.
- Team leadership: Guide the credit recovery team by setting work objectives, monitoring performance, and applying operational corrections when figures deviate from plans.
- Supervision of collections and negotiations: Oversee collection actions and debt settlement agreements, intervening in complex cases and conducting out-of-court negotiations.
- Indicator monitoring: Analyze performance indicators of the overdue portfolio and identify areas for improvement in existing procedures.
- Compliance and institutional liaison: Ensure strict compliance with internal standards and procedures, ensuring direct coordination with the bank's credit, legal, and commercial management and departments.
- Reporting results to management: Prepare periodic performance reports for management, including presenting results achieved, analyzing key challenges, and offering actionable recommendations.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a professional with a background in credit recovery, collections, bank credit, or portfolio management. Proven experience in the banking or financial sector is strongly preferred for this role.
The position requires demonstrated ability in team management, setting operational goals, and tracking collection results, as well as skill in conducting direct debt settlement negotiations.
It is equally important to know how to interpret non-performing credit indicators to design concrete action plans, possess knowledge of credit analysis and risk management, proficiency in MS Office with emphasis on Excel, and full fluency in Portuguese.
