Solidarités International is looking for a Deputy MEAL Manager for its mission in northern Mozambique, based in Pemba, Cabo Delgado. The role exists so that the mission's decisions rest on real data: this is the function that helps base teams measure what projects are actually changing in people's lives, listen to communities and turn lessons learned into better programming.
Day to day, you will support the base teams in putting the monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning strategy into practice across the whole project cycle.
Solidarités International is an international humanitarian organisation that has been delivering emergency assistance in the north of the country since 2019, in an area marked by population displacement and cycles of insecurity. The Mozambique mission operates from Pemba, Mueda and Mocímboa da Praia and covers districts in the north of Cabo Delgado as well as areas further south, such as Metuge, Chiúre, Mecúfi and Ancuabe.
Programmes focus on rapid emergency response, water and sanitation, food security and livelihoods, and shelter. In 2025, funding cuts by a major donor forced a deep restructuring — and the mission kept operating and adapting its strategies. The announcement lists ECHO, SDC, CDCS, OCHA, IFSAN and UNICEF as current donors, alongside the exploration of new funding opportunities.
At the Pemba base, your work starts by giving structure to the MEAL strategy and runs through to the quality of the data underpinning every project. In practice, this means:
The announcement stresses that the task list is not exhaustive and that other related tasks may be assigned by the line manager.
The announcement does not publish a salary or benefits, and it does not state the contract duration or the intended starting date either. What the source does guarantee: the organisation does not charge any fee to apply at any stage of the process, and anyone attempting to bribe an employee will be automatically disqualified — the announcement asks that such cases be reported directly to the administrative department.
