The essentials: Education in Emergencies (EiE) and Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) Officer position at Save The Children, based in Erati (Nampula province) with activities in projects across Cabo Delgado and Nampula, full-time regime — applications with documents until September 28, 2026, through the official SCI careers website.

About Save The Children

Save The Children International (SCI) is a non-profit humanitarian organization focused on child well-being.

SCI is an equal opportunity employer: it encourages applications from women and people with disabilities, and applies strict procedures to ensure that only suitable candidates to work with children join the organization — all candidates will be subject to this scrutiny.

What you will do

You will implement an integrated education in emergencies and child protection in emergencies project in Cabo Delgado and Nampula. The work is under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, with technical support from EiE and CPiE specialists.

This means supporting the effective design and implementation of interventions that ensure learning and holistic well-being for children affected by conflict and natural disasters.

• work in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders — implementation partners, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and community leaders — to deliver comprehensive services that address children's specific needs and promote their rights and resilience in emergency contexts;
• during first-line emergency responses in your work area, you will be under the direct coordination of the SCI Rapid Response Team Leader;
• in a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder is expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to adjust working hours accordingly.

Who we are looking for

The position brings together two fronts that work side-by-side in emergencies: education and child protection. The candidate has prior experience in both areas and knows how to support the design and implementation of interventions. The base is Erati, in Nampula province, and the project operates in Cabo Delgado and Nampula.

What SCI offers

• full-time position in an international humanitarian organization with active programs in education and protection in Mozambique;
• work on emergency projects in Cabo Delgado and Nampula, supervised by a project manager and with technical support from specialists dedicated to both areas;
• salary: to be agreed with the organization (amount not disclosed).

How to apply

Applications are submitted on the SCI careers website — it is the only channel. By September 28, 2026, you must submit your educational certificate, identity card (BI), CV, and cover letter, in Portuguese and English.

1. access the official job posting on the SCI careers website: Officer – Education and Child Protection in Emergencies (Nampula – Erati) – SCI Careers;

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Before submitting: Save The Children does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process and does not use recruitment agents. If anyone asks you for payment on behalf of the organization, it is a scam — do not pay and confirm the publication on the official SCI website.
