The UNICEF Mozambique Country Programme seeks to ensure that all children survive, thrive, and have their rights respected, protected, and fulfilled. The programme operates in a complex environment requiring a high level of interaction with government partners, donors, United Nations agencies, civil society, and the private sector. The Executive Associate will serve as the main support to the UNICEF Representative in Mozambique, ensuring the effective functioning of the front office.
The role is organized around five main domains:
UNICEF is looking for a profile with at least 6 years of experience in administrative and executive support roles, completed secondary education — where higher education may substitute for years of experience (3 years with a bachelor's degree; an additional 2 years with a master's degree) — and fluent command of English and Portuguese.
We are also looking for: strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, flawless writing and communication, high discretion with sensitive information, ability to engage with diverse partners and work under pressure, and hands-on experience with office and digital collaboration tools (such as Microsoft Office).
Knowledge of another official UN language or a local Mozambican language is considered an asset, as well as prior experience within the UN system or similarly structured organizations, and national-level experience in development, fragile, or humanitarian contexts.
