In this context, FIDEC is hiring 11 field technicians to support the implementation of activities in the areas of agriculture and cash transfers, based in Cabo Delgado province.

The role focuses on on-the-ground implementation, with regular contact with communities and activity beneficiaries, bridging the agricultural dimension with cash transfers.

Project Context

The project supports smallholder farmers and cash transfer beneficiaries in Cabo Delgado province across two fronts.

The agricultural front covers community mobilization, the distribution of agricultural inputs — particularly main-season seeds, in kind — and training in good agricultural practices. The cash transfer front covers assistance to beneficiaries through commodity vouchers and e-vouchers, in coordination with local retailers.

This is a role with regular presence in the field and coordination with the district supervisor, who monitors activity plans and technical reports. The team works directly with communities and beneficiaries, including throughout the production process.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for individuals who enjoy working in the field, in direct contact with communities, and who have boots on the ground. This is a role where field presence, sometimes during irregular hours, is part of the daily routine, and where community mobilization and beneficiary monitoring are at the core of day-to-day life.

You will support the implementation of FIDEC's activities in agriculture and cash transfers, working in coordination with the district supervisor and project beneficiaries.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conduct community mobilization to identify, select, and register project beneficiaries, in accordance with eligibility criteria agreed with the donor.
• Coordinate relationships with retailers to ensure assistance to beneficiaries.
• Provide assistance to beneficiaries through commodity voucher and e-voucher modalities.
• Proceed with the distribution of agricultural inputs, particularly main-season seeds, in kind.
• Organize smallholder farmers into groups to facilitate training in good agricultural practices.
• Provide technical assistance to beneficiaries throughout the production process.
• Draft and submit activity plans and reports to the district supervisor.
