The essentials: Johanniter International Assistance is looking to recruit a Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) Manager to work in Cabo Delgado province. You can submit your application by email until September 24, 2026.
Johanniter International Assistance acts as the humanitarian assistance unit of Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V., a German organization based in Berlin.
In Mozambique, the team carries out activities in Cabo Delgado province.
In this management position, you will assume technical leadership of the entire Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) portfolio. The work supports the implementation of the organization's global 2027 strategy, which relies on disaster response and preparedness, health, and livelihoods, integrating climate change and gender parity.
You will guide and monitor the design, implementation, and monitoring of evidence-based food assistance and agricultural production activities. Your scope also covers livestock initiatives, income-generating programs, markets, and climate resilience.
You ensure the integration of FSL actions with the health, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), disaster risk reduction, and community peacebuilding sectors.
You ensure direct technical guidance and mentoring for the project team, comprising FSL, livestock, and disaster risk reduction officers and assistants.
Together with the senior program coordinator, you will develop detailed work plans and manage the execution of budgets assigned to projects.
You report on the achievement of targets to international donors, interact with government authorities, and provide technical support to local and international partner organizations.
You coordinate with the monitoring, evaluation, learning, and accountability (PMEAL) team on the operation of beneficiary feedback mechanisms.
You prepare internal reports and reports for program donors.
You conduct field needs assessments, food security and market assessments, and service mapping in communities.
You actively participate in food security and livelihoods sectoral coordination meetings and forums at the provincial and national levels.
