Key details: Grants Coordinator (m/f) at Action Contre La Faim (ACF), position based in Cabo Delgado. Applications open until October 9, 2026, by email to recruitment@mz-actioncontrelafaim.org, indicating the position title and location or district in the subject line.
Action Contre La Faim is a recognized public utility humanitarian association, founded in 1979, operating in 50 countries in the areas of nutrition, health, food security and livelihoods, water, hygiene and sanitation, mental health, and care practices. As part of its programs, the organization is currently seeking this position for its operations in Mozambique.
The main objective of the role is to be responsible for overall donor-related activities and the preparation of donor documents, ensuring the quality of relationships with donors and partners and compliance with reporting deadlines.
In practice, you will participate in researching funding opportunities: donor mapping, donor strategy briefs, mission capacity assessment, and implementing the GO/NO-GO tool when relevant. You will contribute to the development of strategic alliances and partnerships, consortium building, and reinforcing ACF's position as a key humanitarian and development actor. You will also communicate and deliver training on funding opportunities and donors.
Monitoring and improving the quality of official documents — concept notes, proposals, project amendment requests, and other grant-related documents shared with donors — is included in daily tasks.
In the area of grant management and reporting, you will regularly update the reporting database and, together with the Country Director or Technical Referent, ensure an internal kick-off meeting takes place with all departments (support and program) for each project.
You will also ensure that national office staff and partners are aware of donor rules, guidelines, and ACF commitments prior to project startup, organizing webinars or trainings when necessary. You will advise and train field teams in preparing donor documents and internal reporting and monitoring documents.
You will raise awareness and train field teams and PCM (Project Cycle Management) teams when deemed necessary on donor guidelines, donor reporting/whistleblowing, and compliance with both donor and ACF requirements.
You will participate in kick-off and closure meetings together with the Head of Department, Field Coordinator, and Program Managers to present donor rules, reporting formats, and deadlines.
Who we are looking for: someone meticulous, organized, and detail-oriented, who works well in a team and, when necessary, independently. The role requires a strong communicator who shares ideas, discusses solutions, and works effectively in a demanding and multicultural environment, under stress and tight deadlines. The person must be a quick learner, eager to face challenges and try new approaches when the context changes.
Previous experience in the non-profit sector and an understanding of the humanitarian coordination system are valued, as well as knowledge of donor and institutional funding mechanisms. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; Portuguese or Spanish is also a plus. Prior experience working with ACF is highlighted by the organization as an added value.
How to apply: send your email to recruitment@mz-actioncontrelafaim.org and include the position title and location or district name in the subject line — this vacancy is associated with Cabo Delgado.
Documentation to submit with the application: CV, cover letter, NUIT (Tax Number), ID card (Bilhete de Identidade), and certificates. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by email for a technical test; submitted files will not be returned and any application submitted past the deadline will not be considered.
