About Action Contre La Faim

Action Contre La Faim is a recognized public utility humanitarian association, founded in 1979, operating in around 50 countries. ACF's programs focus on four fronts: nutrition and health; food security and livelihoods; water, sanitation, and hygiene; and mental health and care practices.

In Mozambique, ACF supports humanitarian emergency responses and the development of vulnerable communities. This position is based in Cabo Delgado, a province where the organization operates in the country. In the application, the candidate must indicate the exact location/district where they will perform the role.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a rigorous, organized individual with real experience in grants management and donor relations. You will work with tight reporting deadlines, in a multicultural team, and within a continuously changing emergency context, so you need to write well — reports, proposals, and concept notes — and be able to train and guide field teams.

This is not a desk-bound role: it involves coordinating, training, monitoring, and keeping each donor well-informed at all stages. The position reports to the Country Representative and works in close coordination with the mission management, as well as program and support teams.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Lead the overall management of donor-related activities and draft donor documentation to ensure high-quality relations with donors and partners and adherence to reporting deadlines.
• Participate in researching donor funding opportunities: donor mapping, donor strategy briefs, mission capacity assessments, and applying the GO/NO-GO tool when relevant.
• Contribute to building strategic alliances and partnerships, forming consortia, and strengthening ACF's positioning as a key humanitarian and development actor, while leading communication and training on funding opportunities and donors.
• Monitor and improve the quality of concept notes, proposals, project amendment requests, and any other official grant-related documents shared with donors.
• Coordinate grants management and reporting, regularly updating the reporting database, and together with the Country Director or technical focal point, lead an internal kickoff meeting with all support and program departments for each project.
• Ensure national office staff and partners are familiar with donor rules, guidelines, and ACF commitments before project inception, organizing webinars or training when necessary, and raise awareness and train field teams on guidelines, requirements, and project cycle management.
• Advise and train field teams in preparing donor documents and internal reporting and monitoring documents, and participate in kickoff and closure meetings alongside the Department Head, Field Coordinators, and Program Managers to present donor rules, report formats, and deadlines.

What we offer

• Local contract at ACF Mozambique, in a direct leadership/coordination role within the country's humanitarian and development response.
• Work in a multicultural, team-oriented environment, with direct responsibility for donor relations and the quality of shared documentation.
• Active presence in ACF operations in Cabo Delgado, participating in project kickoff and closure meetings.
• Salary: to be agreed upon with the organization (not disclosed in the job posting).
