Action Contre La Faim (ACF) is a recognized public utility humanitarian association founded in 1979, operating in 50 countries in the areas of nutrition, health, food security and livelihoods, water, sanitation and hygiene, mental health and care practices. As part of its programs, the organization is currently seeking this position for its operations in Mozambique.

The main objective of the role is to define strategies and coordinate mission activities in the fields of Health and Nutrition, develop national programs in these areas, coordinate the effective implementation of technical programs, and ensure the quality of interventions.

The role plays an active part in ACF's strategic engagement with the Nutrition and Health cluster, working groups, and ensuring coordination with the Ministry of Health.

Key responsibilities include contributing to the definition of country strategy and positioning of Nutrition and Health, coordinating the identification of needs and formulation of project proposals, and designing, developing, and evaluating actions in nutrition and health.

Also included are monitoring and coordinating programs in these areas, developing and launching programs in collaboration with governmental and local agencies, technical management of Nutrition and Health Program Managers, and local representation of ACF.

For the profile, the organization requires medical background with a specialization in nutrition, public health, or general medicine, and at least 5 years of experience in humanitarian emergencies or complex contexts, including 3 years in a coordination role.

Proven experience in malnutrition management, support for health organizations, and implementation of humanitarian responses, with an emphasis on community prevention and maternal and child health, is valued. Experience in partnerships with local authorities and outbreak response is an asset, and previous experience with ACF is a major advantage.

Knowledge of nutritional survey methodologies, such as SMART, NCA, and SQUEAC, and the preparation of cholera control interventions and IMCI is also required. These methods form the technical foundation for action design and evaluation.

Strong interpersonal skills with partners and authorities, proven writing skills in project drafting and reporting, flexibility, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are valued. Fluency in English, both oral and written, and Portuguese is mandatory.

Good networking skills and experience in maintaining working relationships with partner organizations, line ministries, and donors are valued.
