The on-site role

The HR Supervisor is the local point of contact for Human Resources matters at the operational site. The team in Maputo manages the processes; you ensure the daily routine on the ground runs smoothly: rigorous attendance, absences and replacements handled without delay, PPE stocks controlled, and daily reports submitted so that no decision is delayed waiting for information.

When a worker is absent, when PPE needs restocking, or when timesheets need to be submitted, the request comes to you first. With reliable records, the operation keeps moving and the HR team has an accurate picture of what is happening on site.

What you will do

The responsibilities of the position are as follows:

• Supervise and monitor the daily attendance of all workers at the operational site.
• Coordinate personnel replacement processes quickly and efficiently, ensuring the operation does not stop due to staffing shortages.
• Organize, validate, and maintain updated timesheets.
• Manage absences, leaves, and vacations in accordance with internal procedures and applicable labor legislation.
• Supervise the control and management of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including stocks, replenishment, and replacement.
• Identify and report irregularities related to attendance, PPE, and other HR matters.
• Prepare and send daily reports to the HR team in Maputo, covering attendance, absences, replacements, incidents, and PPE status.
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
• Support routine disciplinary management and communication with workers.
• Act as the primary point of contact for HR matters at the operational site.
• Ensure compliance with policies, internal procedures, and applicable legal requirements.
• Coordinate and support the HR team in daily activities at the operational site.

Who we are looking for

This position is for someone with real experience in Human Resources and the confidence to manage daily operations on the ground. Required education is in Human Resources — management, administration, or related fields — at a higher or technical-professional level. Relevant experience, ideally in mining, oil and gas, construction, or other industrial environments, is the profile the company is looking for.

The core of the role is the daily management of attendance, timesheets, vacations, absences, and the mobilization or replacement of workers. Solid knowledge of Mozambican labor legislation and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, complete the profile. Candidates with prior team management experience will have an advantage.
