HSE Superintendent — Eni Natural Energies (Maputo)

Eni Natural Energies (ENE) is looking for an HSE Superintendent to join the team in Maputo under a fixed-term contract (reference 33810). The deadline to submit applications is October 31, 2026.

The ideal profile is a professional with strong technical expertise in Health, Safety, and Environment, capable of leading field supervision and providing technical support for the effective implementation and application of HSE policies, procedures, and standards across all company operations in Mozambique. The position is based in Maputo, on-site, and fluency in Portuguese and English is required for the role.

The HSE Superintendent will be responsible for developing the HSE Management System in compliance with Eni's requirements, as well as field supervision and technical support for the teams. Main responsibilities include, among others:

• Support the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of the HSE Management System across all project activities.
• Provide advice and support on HSE matters to office and field teams across agriculture, logistics, processing, storage, and port operations.
• Ensure activities are conducted safely, with minimal environmental impact, and in compliance with project requirements and local legislation.
• Support the implementation of environmental programs, including Environmental, Social, and Human Rights Management Plans and waste management processes.
• Ensure compliance with environmental requirements, permits, and applicable legislation.
• Develop and support HSE initiatives, campaigns, and programs aimed at improving safety performance and strengthening HSE leadership and culture.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and support the achievement of company HSE objectives.
• Ensure incidents are properly reported, investigated, and closed out, with corrective actions effectively implemented.
• Communicate lessons learned from incidents and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Maintain and report HSE performance statistics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reports, ensuring accurate monitoring against project targets.
• Conduct regular HSE inspections and audits, identifying areas of non-compliance and opportunities for improvement.
• Support the development and implementation of an effective Emergency Response Plan covering all project activities.
• Participate in pre-job, planning, and contractor meetings, providing HSE guidance and ensuring follow-up on agreed actions.
• Provide regular HSE updates and reports to the Project Manager.
