What the role involves

The purpose of the role is to promote health, prevent illness, and provide nursing care to students, staff, and the school community, contributing to a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for the teaching and learning process.

The job posting defines the responsibilities as follows:

• promote and protect the health status of students and staff;
• conduct health assessments of students and staff;
• develop and implement school health plans and policies;
• maintain, evaluate, and interpret student health data, ensuring responsiveness to individual needs;
• plan and implement school health management protocols;
• develop procedures and ensure management of emergencies, injuries, and illnesses;
• provide first aid and nursing care;
• administer medications upon prescription and appropriate authorization;
• promote and support communicable disease control;
• monitor and follow up on students with chronic conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, and allergies;
• ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and biosafety standards;
• manage and control supplies and medications at the school medical clinic;

The candidate profile the school is looking for

A Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or an equivalent or higher academic qualification in the same field, with a valid registration with the Order of Nurses (or corresponding regulatory body) is required.

At least 7 years of professional experience as a nurse is required, with a minimum of 2 years in health facilities focusing on pediatrics, in addition to professional experience and exposure working with children and adolescents.

The profile also includes proven knowledge and experience in first aid, mastery of Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS/ALS), quick action in emergency situations, basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and knowledge of English, which is considered an asset.
