Labour Insertion & Partnerships Coordinator — MUVA (Maputo)

The essentials

MUVA, a Mozambican foundation for economic empowerment, is hiring a Labour Insertion & Partnerships Coordinator for Employability, based in Maputo with coverage of Inhambane and Vilankulo.

Who MUVA is

MUVA develops its own economic empowerment methodologies, with a focus on women and youth. The organisation provides direct support to people in poverty or vulnerability and supports other actors — technical advisory, project implementation, research — with the aim of a more inclusive and equitable society.

The work targets poverty reduction and confronting the roots of inequality, especially the social norms and structural barriers that deprive women and young people of access to economic opportunities. In practice, the foundation prepares youth for work and integrates them into jobs, internships and apprenticeships, with follow-up after placement.

Working relationship

The position reports to the Department Director and interacts directly with all foundation staff. The coordinator sells labour insertion services to companies and employers, builds and manages the paying client base and ensures each contract generates revenue for the foundation and youth placements.

Remuneration

Prospecting and opportunity generation

• Identify and qualify target companies in the sectors with the highest demand for young labour, with profiles aligned to the MUVA model
• Maintain an active sales pipeline with enough opportunity volume to hit the targets
• Represent the foundation at job fairs, business events, chambers of commerce and sector associations to generate new commercial contacts
• Advocate with clients for the hiring of young women, showing how that contributes to the company's diversity goals

Contract closing

• Understand each client's needs — profiles, volumes, deadlines, location — and turn them into a service proposal
• Prepare commercial proposals and quotes with the insertion team, in liaison with the finance area, within the foundation's pricing policy
• Negotiate commercial terms and close service contracts
• Respond to requests, expressions of interest and open tenders from private companies, together with the technical team

Client management and team leadership

• Follow up on client satisfaction and quickly resolve delivery problems
• Identify renewal, expansion and cross-selling opportunities in the current base
• Align with the insertion team on the delivery of the services sold, especially regarding youth profiles, as the central contact point for clients
• Set targets for the insertion team, track achievement and bring market intelligence on the most sought-after profiles and skills to the foundation, to calibrate the training
• Log contacts, opportunities and contracts on the internal partnerships management platform; present the pipeline weekly and the results monthly, against the targets
