The Role

In an electrical material warehouse within an energy sector company, errors come at a cost: missing equipment can delay a project deadline or stall contract delivery. Whoever takes on this role is responsible for all of Electrotec's warehouse operations, from the moment material arrives until it is dispatched to projects.

This involves coordinating people, deciding how and when to replenish materials, coordinating with suppliers and transporters, and keeping accurate inventory records. The role is measured by concrete results: met deadlines, reliable stock, and logistics costs under control.

What you will do day-to-day

• Ensure that the material needed for ongoing projects and contracts arrives on time, in the correct condition, and with complete documentation;
• Coordinate warehouse teams and assign tasks so that everyone knows what to do and when;
• Coordinate with suppliers and transporters to meet agreed deadlines and keep costs under control;
• Prepare and support periodic inventories, correcting discrepancies between recorded stock and physical stock;
• Monitor operational performance and periodically report the status of stocks and deadlines to management;
• Manage internal requisitions and the distribution of material among different company areas;
• Propose and apply improvements to warehouse procedures that make operations more efficient and safer.

Mozambique is expanding its national electricity grid, and Electrotec is among the companies building and maintaining that network. Each power distribution project depends on a regular supply of materials: cables, transformers, lamps, protective equipment. The warehouse is where all of this converges before heading out to projects.

In a company with multiple concurrent projects, warehouse management is not a support function: it is a function that determines whether projects run or halt. Well-managed stock means that each project receives the material it needs, when it needs it, without surplus or shortages.
