Sasol is a South African industrial group with energy and chemical operations in Mozambique, active in the country's gas and energy projects in the north and with a corporate base in Maputo. The position belongs to the group's «Integrity Gas & Ekandustria» entity: it leads the corporate affairs, stakeholder relations and communications functions for the entire Mozambique operation.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for a stakeholder relations and communications manager able to build and sustain constructive relationships with communities, government, regulators and partners — and to manage the internal and external communication that protects Sasol's reputation in the country.

This is a team-leadership role, with autonomy to decide plans, channels and content, and direct responsibility for outcomes. The ideal profile combines analytical rigour with political sensitivity: the role requires working with technicians and executives alike, mediating between interests, and keeping the brand coherent across all channels.

The holder of this role reports to the General Management of the operation in Mozambique and interacts with all group units in the country — the weight of the role is cross-cutting, not confined to a single department or project.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Develop and execute engagement plans for internal and external stakeholders, giving effect to the corporate affairs strategy in Mozambique;
• Monitor and alert management to threats and opportunities that could affect or strengthen Sasol's presence and reputation in the country;
• Coordinate executive engagement with Government and regulatory authorities, ensuring alignment and support for Sasol's initiatives and operations;
• Lead community relations, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with local communities;
• Prepare and run workshops, roundtables and forums — agendas, project plans, minutes and reports;
• Implement a 360-degree integrated communication plan across traditional, digital and social channels, and act as editor of Sasol's publications in Mozambique;
• Manage the communication response to crisis situations affecting the organisation's perception and reputation;
• Run media monitoring and social listening, and manage campaigns, monitoring and moderation across social media and digital channels;
• Drive internal communication, keeping it aligned with organisational goals and values, including campaigns for key projects and initiatives;
• Develop and implement the sponsorship and events plan, ensuring brand visibility at all events;
• Lead a team of four specialists: set priorities, allocate work, provide technical direction and consolidate periodic reports for Corporate Affairs, the General Management and the Group Operating Unit.
