About AQI

AQI manages stores, and in this position, you will be responsible for their operations: assets, maintenance, suppliers, and projects. The company has plans to open new stores, and the operations manager is the person who keeps everything running end-to-end.

This role connects multiple departments: what happens in the stores impacts assets, maintenance, suppliers, and projects, and this position is the central point where everything converges and is coordinated.

Work streams cover a broad portfolio of assets — from computers to motorbikes, equipment to furniture — and external service contracts, from security to store landlords. Whoever assumes this position has full visibility into the cost of each area and knows where there is room to optimize.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone comfortable managing multiple work streams simultaneously: assets, maintenance, suppliers, and project timelines. Practical experience in operations management, project management, or vendor management is essential, and proficiency in Excel and digital control systems is the main daily working tool.

This is an on-site position in Maputo, within the company's operations. The pace requires meeting daily deadlines and keeping operations moving: organization, planning, and constant monitoring.

Negotiation is part of the daily routine: the role manages service providers and handles pricing, terms, deadlines, and service level agreements. The ideal candidate must maintain initiative, solve problems as they arise, and liaise with different company departments to ensure no tasks are left pending.

What the role involves

The role combines managing existing operations with building what comes next. Five key work streams define the day-to-day:

• Assets and fixed assets: management and control of company fixed assets — computers, mobile phones, motorbikes, equipment, and furniture — including registration, assignment, transfer, maintenance, and replacement of each asset;
• Office supplies and stores: managing office supplies, monitoring store material needs, and coordinating maintenance from request to intervention, closely tracking deadlines, costs, and service providers;
• New stores: coordinating store opening projects, from planning to meeting deadlines, with continuous monitoring;
• Suppliers and costs: managing and monitoring service providers — security, Alidata, landlords, maintenance, among others —, negotiating prices, terms, deadlines, and service levels, monitoring operational costs, identifying variances and proposing optimization, and implementing housing solutions in owned properties for stays to optimize costs;
• Quality and control: coordinating the Mystery Shopper Program and its results and improvement actions; creating and using digital organization and control systems for operational activities; maintaining Excel tracking sheets for assets, maintenance, suppliers, projects, and costs; preparing periodic reports; identifying operational issues and proposing solutions; liaising with different company departments to ensure deadlines are met.

Remuneration
