About the job

CDM is recruiting an Operator for the packaging area at the Marracuene facility.

The main objective of the role is to safely operate and maintain the designated packaging equipment — particularly the filling and labeling processes, which have the greatest impact on the business in terms of costs and quality for the consumer — and related processes, in order to achieve optimal production line efficiency.

It is a shop-floor role, working on line operations, where process stability is built day after day through rigor at the operator station.

What you will do

• Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy working environment on the packaging line;
• Complete the tracking and monitoring of the operator station and take necessary actions;
• Complete team room administration as required;
• Contribute to self-development, both individual and team;
• Manage PIMS and POMS and take corrective action regarding negative trends;
• Use QFRs according to defined triggers;
• Complete 5 WHYs according to triggers with relevant team members;
• Contribute to AB reporting as required;
• Perform autonomous operations on the line;
• Interpret and implement the shift production plan;
• Operate manual and automatic machinery on the line according to standards;
• Monitor production processes during the shift and correct any negative trends;
• Ensure process quality and productivity.

What we are looking for

Minimum requirements (mandatory):

• Grade 12;
• Mechanical or electrical aptitude;
• Specific machine operation experience;
• Technical qualification (N3 or equivalent);
• Minimum of 9 months on-the-job training;
• SKAP completed within 12 months.

Valued skills:

• Proven experience in business decision-making within a packaging environment (financial, operational, and people-related);
• Performance track record demonstrating a disciplined work ethic with a passion for quality maintenance;
• Proven understanding of relevant legislation, namely health & safety and labor legislation.
