The essentials: State public recruitment competition offering 85 positions in the Pharmacy Technician career for Nampula Province. The positions are distributed across the health, women's, and social action service network in each district, all under the province's provincial health service. Applications must be submitted in person at the service's human resources counter in Nampula by October 30, 2026.
It is an open recruitment competition in the Public Administration, based on a 2026 dispatch dated September 24 from the Secretary of State of the province. The announcement making it public was signed on September 30 by the director of the provincial service, a general practitioner.
The competition is valid for 30 days from the publication of the notice and opens vacancies in public service technical health careers. The Pharmacy Technician career accounts for 85 of these positions. The notice does not specify the salary amount: remuneration is as defined for the civil service.
As the positions are spread across all district services in the province, final placement can occur in any of them. It is the classic pathway for integration into Nampula's public health network for those who practice — or wish to practice — the pharmacy profession within the state sector.
There is one aspect that sets this competition apart from private sector recruitment: the notice does not require years of experience. It requires professional qualification in the field with a certified true copy, and compliance with the admission conditions for the civil service — minimum age allowing for pension contributions, physical fitness and mental sanity, and not being retired.
The rest of the process tests discipline and preparation. Candidates who reach the four selection stages are one step away from being hired by the province, with the assurance that entry was achieved through merit, in order of ranking.
In district health units, the pharmacy technician's routine focuses on the medicine supply chain: receiving and registering supplies, managing stock and expiration dates, preparing and dispensing medicines and supplies, and supporting the rational use of drugs in the community.
It is demanding routine work, where a dispensing error or stock control mistake has direct consequences for the patients the unit serves. For those who appreciate concrete responsibility and seeing the daily results of their work, it is a natural fit.
The process takes place in four phases, following the sequence defined by the resolution applicable to these competitions: document verification, written exam, practical test, and interview.
The written exam covers a legal block common to the careers in the notice: the specific revision of the Constitution (Law 1/2018), the framework of State representatives in the province (Law 7/2019 and Decree 63/2020), the statute governing State employees (Law 4/2022 and Decree 32/2023), public administration operating rules (Decree 30/2001), and the most recent revision of that statute (Law 10/2026).
In addition, it includes subject matter specific to the professional qualification and general knowledge.
Preparing this block once prepares you for the remaining health careers in the same notice. It is not last-minute study material: the content is public and recurring.
A detail worth considering: the competition is valid for three years, starting from the moment the official State gazette publishes the final ranking list. The 85 positions of this edition — and any vacancies that arise during that period — can be filled within this timeframe, always respecting the order of ranking.
Submission must be in person and the deadline is short: documents must arrive, during normal office hours, by the end of the deadline on October 30, 2026, at the provincial health service of the province, in Nampula.
The application dossier opens with the entry request addressed to the Secretary of State of the province, via a petition with a notarized signature. This is followed by the set of documents required by the notice — NUIT, certified birth certificate or identity card, certified professional qualification certificate, health certificate proving fitness, signed formal declaration, and CV. The complete list is in the requirements section; check everything before preparing your dossier.
