About BIOFUND and the program

BIOFUND — Foundation for the Conservation of Biodiversity — is a Mozambican non-profit public utility institution. Its mission is to conserve terrestrial and aquatic biodiversity, ensure the sustainable use of natural resources, and consolidate the national conservation areas that form SNAC.

The Mozambique Conservation Leadership Program (PLCM) is funded by the UK Government via FCDO under CCIP, with participation from ANAC and INEP. The call reference is 10/BIOFUND/CCIP/FCDO/NCS/DS/26.

What you will do

The internship begins in October 2026 and takes place at one of the SNAC institutions: ANAC, public or private conservation areas, BIOFUND itself, or entities supporting conservation.

The specific placement — center and operational areas — depends on the needs of partner institutions. The Terms of Reference detail the requirements and eligible degree fields; there are no fixed tasks defined per center.

• Gain real-world experience in biodiversity conservation through direct engagement with SNAC areas;
• Collaborate with institutions operating in these areas;
• Be part of a path designed for recent Higher Education or Technical-Vocational graduates;
• Contribute to building conservation awareness among young Mozambicans.

Beyond training, professional attitude, eagerness to learn in a real setting, and readiness to start your career at one of SNAC's partner institutions are key.

Conditions

The internship starts in October 2026 and is hosted within SNAC institutions, supported by UK Government funding. It is also a valuable addition to your resume: experience in a conservation program backed by official sector institutions — from ANAC to INEP.
