What you will do

As Senior Finance Officer, you support the effective implementation of financial management systems, policies, and procedures across the country program, in compliance with CRS standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), donor rules, and local legislation.

• Review and validate supporting documentation prior to processing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and authorizations.
• Set up and maintain processing data in assigned accounts within the SunSystems software or equivalent tool.
• Record financial transactions following appropriate authorizations, analyze accounts to detect irregularities, and propose corrective actions and adjustments.
• Monitor disbursement and receipt schedules, alerting the team regarding pending payments and liquidations to ensure timely resource management.
• Assess and monitor financial management processes of partner sub-recipients, strengthening their accounting and transaction capacity.
• Prepare periodic and ad hoc financial reports, including variance analyses to support decision-making.
• Provide guidance to teams and sub-recipients on accounting policies and procedural compliance matters.
• Perform treasury tasks such as payments, receipts, and cash forecasts, always ensuring segregation of duties.

The position involves supervision and mentoring of finance staff in the field and on projects. It requires willingness to travel up to 50% of working time.

The work is performed fully in-person in the field. The indicated location is Mozambique (on-site), with the specific base to be confirmed during the selection process. CRS maintains offices in Maputo and active programs in other provinces.
