Key facts: Senior Information Technology Officer (code OSTI) in Maputo, full-time, with Fundação Ariel Glaser. Applications open until October 23, 2026, with cover letter, CV, and certificates in Portuguese — hand-delivered to the Fundação offices in Maputo, Matola, or Pemba.
Fundação Ariel Glaser implements the FADM READY project in Mozambique, funded by the United States Government through its Department of War. The goal is to strengthen the country's military health systems in partnership with the Mozambican Armed Defence Forces (FADM), focusing on institutional and operational capacities that ensure the readiness and sustainability of military health services.
This position manages the project's technological infrastructure end-to-end. Plan, implement, and supervise the administration of networks, computers, servers, systems, and devices; ensure availability and performance across the entire fleet; deploy cybersecurity measures, access control, malware protection, backups, and data recovery.
Manage user accounts and permissions, install and update authorized software, and maintain an up-to-date IT asset inventory. Resolve technical incidents reported by the team within established deadlines, and provide direct support to system users.
Support the selection and procurement of equipment, computer software, and technology services, ensuring everything is properly configured and secured. Develop procedures for the use, security, and management of resources, monitor information security risks, and report incidents, with particular attention to protecting sensitive and confidential data.
Supervise technology service providers and monitor the work of the team's IT Officer, promoting the development of their skills. Also provide support for audits and assessments related to information systems and security.
If your area of expertise is cybersecurity and network management, this is the position where you can directly impact the operational capacity of the project in Mozambique.
The role requires technical autonomy and rigor: someone who feels at home in a multi-application environment, knows how to prioritize concurrent incidents, and treats confidentiality as a rule, not an option. The project involves travel within Maputo and, when applicable, to other locations. You will work in a multidisciplinary team with public partners and international funders, requiring clear communication and adherence to deadlines.
