Action Contre La Faim (ACF) — a humanitarian organisation founded in 1979, recognised as being of public utility, present in more than 50 countries in the fields of nutrition, health, food security and livelihoods, water, hygiene and sanitation,

as well as mental health and care practices — is looking for a Senior Logistics Officer for its base in Mueda, Cabo Delgado. The contract runs for 6 months, renewable, with an immediate start. Applications close on 15 September 2026.

What you will do at the base

The central aim of the role is to provide logistics support to the base's programmes and to track the day-to-day logistics activities. The announcement organises the work into seven fronts:

1. Logistics support to programmes. You help requisitioners prepare purchase orders and stock requisitions; you give technical support to Project Managers drafting Terms of Reference; you prepare and supervise construction and rehabilitation works in the field; you follow up on requests with the procurement team; and you support the teams during distributions and kit preparation.

2. Base fleet. You make sure the vehicle scheduling — prepared by the General Services Officer —

matches programme needs; you review the drivers' planning and keep it up to date against operational constraints; you follow the budget and track fleet-related expenses in the base financial reports; you supervise the preparation of vehicle trips outside the base — administrative paperwork and loading included — and keep communication flowing about scheduled maintenance and breakdowns.

3. Infrastructure. You keep an eye on the condition of the facilities, checked on a regular basis; you supervise minor repairs, report major rehabilitations and identify furniture and equipment needs, validating purchases with the Base Coordinator; you ensure water and power for the facilities and the Guest House; you follow the facilities' contracts and lead the monthly reconciliation of expenses shared with other organisations (warehouse, office and guest house).

4. Supply chain. You ensure compliance with ACF's internal procedures at every step of local procurement; you advise requisitioners on how their requests are processed; you control deliveries to programmes and departments; and you contribute to market assessments and to stock management.

5. ICT resources. You solve users' common problems, you see that technology standards are respected on the computers and you oversee the data back-up system.

6. Managing the logistics team. You organise the department's work, you run the logistics team's recruitment processes, you contribute to the training plan and you carry out the annual performance reviews, providing technical support whenever needed.

7. Reporting. You produce the base's monthly logistics report and track contracts, equipment inventory, fleet management, stocks and energy consumption — plus any other reports that are needed.
