About World Vision Mozambique

World Vision is an international humanitarian organisation, present in Mozambique for more than 30 years. It works in 11 of the country's 15 districts, with a community base of about 200,000 people, and runs programmes on education, health and nutrition, water and sanitation, child protection and community development.

One of the lines that underpins these programmes is the community funding and sponsorship programme, from which this role is born. The goal is to deepen partnerships with leading institutions — universities, agencies, organisations and foundations —, to keep the funder base diverse, and to maintain a healthy funding base.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Manage grant applications, from concept to proposal and approval, in partnership with the World Vision International team and with the National Fundraising team.
• Follow up on agreements, grant conditions and compliance, keeping partners' trust through timely and accurate reporting.
• Represent World Vision at relevant meetings and conferences, and lead or contribute to institutional partnerships in Tete.
• Run sponsorship and fundraising activities in schools, churches and the community, and report periodically on the results.
• Collaborate on the community development and sponsorship programmes, and report periodically to the relevant heads.
• Prepare monthly and annual reports on funding and sponsorship.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a person with a sense of responsibility, a collaborative and results-oriented mindset, and the energy to work across different locations. This is not a desk job: the role is based in the district head office, with regular travel to project sites, so you should be comfortable moving between the office and the field.

It is also useful to have translation capacity and a digital base — social media, reports and content sharing. The setting is a humanitarian NGO, with coordination between administrative posts, project sites and headquarters, and regular travel.
