The essentials: The Ministry of Transport and Logistics (MTL) is looking for a Project Coordinator for its Project Coordination Unit (PCU) in Maputo, under a 24-month individual consultancy contract. Applications close on September 30, 2026, and submission is by email.
The Ministry of Transport and Logistics (MTL), through the Project Coordination Unit (PCU), implements the SRSEI program — Safer Roads for Socioeconomic Integration of Mozambique. This program is funded by the World Bank under Financing Agreement IDA-E0780.
The position has the official reference MZ-PMU-561409-CS-INDV and is based in Maputo, reporting directly to the PCU Portfolio Coordinator. The role requires active coordination of activities in the designated provinces, connecting field work to central management.
The selected professional assumes responsibility for ensuring that the implementation of actions occurs within deadlines, maintaining quality and adherence to the rules agreed upon with the funder.
In the day-to-day of this coordination, you will be responsible for monitoring the execution of the program's actions. Your tasks include:
We are looking for a senior civil engineering and construction management professional with work experience in Mozambique and fluency in Portuguese and English. Practical experience in FIDIC contracts and knowledge of World Bank environmental and social standards are required.
