The essential: FHI 360 is looking for a Stock Pre-Positioning Technical Officer, integrated into the EpiC Global Health Security (GHS) project in Mozambique, based in Maputo. The position is published as m/f, open to female and male candidates. The published base annual salary is 34,000 to 43,000 USD. Applications close on October 7, 2026, on the official FHI 360 career portal (Workday).
FHI 360 is a non-profit human development organization operating in more than 40 countries and in all states and territories of the United States. Its goal is to improve lives in a lasting way by promoting integrated, locally driven solutions.
The team brings together experts in health, education, nutrition, environment, economic development, civil society, youth, research, and technology — a mix of capabilities organized to tackle interconnected development challenges.
The EpiC GHS project supports Mozambique in strengthening systems for prevention, detection, and response to infectious disease threats. One of the pillars of this preparedness is ensuring that critical outbreak response items are quantified, procured, tracked, positioned, and, when necessary, rapidly deployed. This is the work where the Technical Officer steps in, in close collaboration with MISAU, INS, provincial authorities, RTC, and other partners.
The organization is seeking a profile with moderate knowledge of concepts, practices, and implementation procedures for stock positioning and emergency deployment activities. The individual develops the scope of work and deliverables for partners and consultants, understands the political, contextual, and ethical issues of the assigned areas, and communicates clearly with clients and colleagues.
The candidate is expected to master planning and time management, people management, and the creation and management of systems and processes, while solving moderate to complex problems with sound judgment.
There are no supervisory responsibilities: you receive methods and procedures for each project and assignment, and you may provide guidance to lower-level staff. You report to the Global Health Security Specialist.
The work environment is a typical field setting, with 55% to 60% travel; it includes prolonged computer work, and you may need to lift objects weighing up to approximately 2.3 kg. Technology you will use: laptop computer, Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Zoom/Teams, mobile phone, and standard office equipment.
The expected annual base salary is 34,000 to 43,000 USD, values published in the vacancy announcement. In determining the offer amount, FHI 360 considers the candidate's experience and education, internal equity, market compensation, and budget. For internal candidates, salary placement follows the organization's current promotional increase guidelines.
Applications are submitted on the official FHI 360 career portal (Workday): Technical Officer — Stock Pre-Positioning — Requisition 2026201351. The closing date is October 7, 2026, as published in the announcement — apply before that date.
