Who we are looking for

SUGEC is looking for field and site professionals, with hands-on works experience. The new team must be able to carry out technical tasks across 9 fronts: project drawings, surveying operations, supervision of operational teams, stock control, machine maintenance, Chinese–English translation and site logistics.

We value candidates with a bilingual (Chinese and English) résumé, fluent oral and written English, and a secondary, professional or higher qualification recognised internationally. The company expects the candidate to be available to work in a site environment, with works deadlines.

The 9 hiring areas

The announcement opens 9 positions. Each has its own specific responsibilities, but all share a common baseline of requirements (language, education, experience).

• Civil Construction Technicians — support works execution, reading of drawings, support to the responsible engineer, quality control of work fronts. They report to the works manager. The day to day is between the fronts and the drawing desk.
• Hydraulic Technicians — water and sewer networks of the projects, sizing, execution control and commissioning of hydraulic systems. They work in coordination with the infrastructure team.
• Cooks — logistical support in the site canteens. Feeding of operational teams on large-scale projects. Site kitchen experience is an advantage.
• Translators — the language bridge between the SUGEC technical team (Chinese), the local team (Portuguese) and international stakeholders (English). Technical translation is the core of the role: contracts, meetings, work orders.
• Surveyors — surveying, levelling and geometric control of the works. Responsible for ensuring the work fronts are aligned with the project. Work with surveying equipment.
• Works Supervisors — direct supervision of operational teams in the field. Responsibility for daily productivity, site safety and meeting the deadlines of the work front.
• Electrical Technicians — electrical installations, energy distribution on site, circuit maintenance. Responsible for the projects' power network.
• Stock Managers — control of materials, equipment and inputs in the works depots. Inbound/outbound management, inventories, logistics support.
• Machine Technicians — operation and preventive maintenance of heavy machinery on site. Responsible for keeping the fleet running within deadlines.
