Ascending provides staffing and training services to the oil and gas sector in Mozambique, with ISO 9001 and MLC certifications and a training center in Pemba, in partnership with IFPELAC. The company supports operators in the sector in the north of the country, where drilling campaigns and liquefied natural gas facilities concentrate the activity.

Pemba is the logistical base for these operations: it is from here that materials, parts, and teams leave to supply offshore and onshore rigs and facilities. The warehouse is, in practice, the heart of this chain — and this role exists to ensure it doesn't fail.

It is a role for someone who is rigorous with inventory — accurate counts, correct labels, traceable material — and is comfortable in a fast-paced operational environment.

The routine combines the warehouse with field logistics: receiving, dispatching, counts, audits, and mobilization of drilling materials. HSE culture is part of the job, not just an ornament.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Supervise daily warehouse operations — receiving, storage, distribution, and dispatch of materials and equipment — maintaining organization and proper storage conditions;
• Ensure that drilling materials, consumables, tools, and spare parts are available so that operations do not stop;
• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, and transport providers;
• Manage inventory: monitor stock levels in the warehouse management system, perform cycle counts and physical audits, investigate discrepancies, and maintain identification, labeling, and traceability of all material;
• Support drilling campaigns: coordinate the mobilization and demobilization of materials for rigs and offshore/onshore facilities, and support logistics planning for urgent shipments;
• Apply health, safety, environment, and quality rules: comply with company policies and industry standards, conduct safety inspections and risk assessments, and promote the safe handling of hazardous materials;
• Prepare inventory, stock movement, and warehouse performance reports, track KPIs — inventory accuracy, stock availability, timely deliveries — and support management in forecasting needs.

Work mode and location

Full-time, on-site, based in Pemba (Cabo Delgado). The day is spent between the warehouse, materials, and teams executing drilling campaigns — in the field, with a clear objective: ensuring the right material reaches the right place at the right time.
