The basics: Action Against Hunger (ACF) is looking for a Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Infrastructure Supervisor for the humanitarian response in Mocimboa da Praia, Cabo Delgado. The position is advertised as (m/f) — open to women and men.

Action Against Hunger is a public benefit humanitarian organization founded in 1979, operating in over 50 countries. Its areas of intervention include nutrition, health, food security and livelihoods, water, sanitation and hygiene, and mental health and care practices.
You will supervise the implementation of the hardware component of the program and WASH interventions responding to people affected by the conflict in Cabo Delgado. The role requires efficiency, quality, and relevance, in line with ACF's mandate, technical criteria, environmental regulations, strategy, and donor requirements.
On this technical front, you will monitor WASH works — boreholes, water supply systems, irrigation, latrines, and rehabilitations — and oversee contractors to ensure quality control of infrastructure. You will create and use supervision checklists and ensure complete documentation for each work.
You will provide continuous technical guidance to teams and service providers. You will organize and facilitate technical trainings for beneficiaries and ensure kit distribution, as well as monitor field activities.
In terms of reporting, you will produce regular technical and statistical reports on activity progress and ensure the timely submission of narrative APRs and reports to authorities. You will collect, analyze, and archive data and means of verification — photos, lists, reports — and document contractor meetings with signatures.
You will coordinate the logistics and administration of activities: prepare and validate bills of quantities (BoQ) and technical specifications, support procurement processes and supplier identification, and ensure compliance with logistical, administrative, and financial procedures. You will plan weekly activities with technical teams and support departments.
You will represent the team to local authorities, partners, non-governmental organizations, and communities, ensuring the flow of relevant information, including safety and security aspects.
We are looking for someone who feels comfortable in the field and knows how to work under pressure and tight deadlines. The day-to-day involves monitoring works, training local teams, and dealing with suppliers and authorities, with the ability to prioritize activities and plan and estimate schedules and resources.
Living in Mocimboa da Praia is an advantage, and the organization encourages applications from women.
