WASH Supervisor — ACF (Mocimboa da Praia)

Action Contre La Faim (ACF) has opened a position in Mocimboa da Praia, Cabo Delgado, for a Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Infrastructure Supervisor. The contract has a duration of 2 months and is renewable, with immediate availability required.

What the position involves

The position focuses on the technical supervision of the hardware component of the WASH program, in response to people affected by the conflict in Cabo Delgado. The work is organized into four main areas: direct supervision of field works, production of reports, logistical and administrative management, and coordination with communities. The supervisor ensures that the program is executed with efficiency, quality, and in compliance with humanitarian intervention standards.

Specific tasks

• Supervise WASH works in the field, ensure the quality of executed infrastructure, and produce checklists and complete technical documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to field teams and deliver practical training to beneficiaries for the autonomous operation and maintenance of water sources.
• Produce regular technical and statistical reports, archive data, and ensure timely submission of narrative APRs to the authorities.
• Prepare and validate bills of quantities, support the procurement process, and identify suppliers.
• Ensure the distribution of hygiene kits to beneficiaries, regularly monitor activities, and record evidence.
• Ensure compliance with logistical, administrative, and financial procedures, and archive all project documentation, in physical and digital format, ready for audit.
• Coordinate with local authorities, partners, and NGOs, ensure the flow of relevant information, including security aspects, and document meetings with contractors with signed minutes, communicating challenges to the manager and proposing solutions in a timely manner.

Working conditions

• Remuneration: 82,215 MZN gross monthly salary; the 13th month is paid in December, calculated pro-rata based on the start date.
• Benefits: health insurance covering the partner and children (upon presentation of certificates) and 2 days of paid leave per month.
• Location: Mocimboa da Praia. Being a local resident is an advantage.
• Languages: Ki-mwani, Shi-makonde, and Ki-swahili are mandatory; intermediate English is an advantage.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil, Hydraulic, Mechanical, or Geological Engineering (or equivalent technical background).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the WASH sector and in humanitarian contexts.
• Knowledge of structures, civil construction projects, hydraulic systems, sanitation, and water supply management.
• Ability to prepare technical plans and budgets, dimension water intake systems, and train local teams in the operation and maintenance of water sources.
• Autonomy, sense of responsibility, and ability to work in emergency contexts and hard-to-reach areas.
