Workshop Supervisor — Épsilon Mobilidade (Maputo)

The essential: Workshop Supervisor position at Épsilon Mobilidade, based at the workshop with travel to battery swapping stations in Maputo and Matola. Applications are open until October 5, 2026, and must be sent by email.

The job may include on-call shifts, weekends, and extended hours during peak operational periods; availability for this arrangement is part of the job requirements.

About the company

Épsilon Mobilidade operates in electric mobility — motorbikes and tuk-tuks — and maintains battery swapping stations in Maputo and Matola.

The workshop is where the fleet is kept running: this is where repairs, preventive maintenance, and warranty management take place.

What you will do day-to-day

• Organize the workshop schedule: assign tasks to the technical team and monitor the completion of each one.
• Set up rosters and on-call schedules to ensure continuous operational coverage.
• Support and train technicians in diagnosing low-voltage electrical systems, controllers, hub motors, and lithium iron phosphate batteries.
• Evaluate the team and identify training needs.
• Supervise preventive maintenance according to manufacturer plans — brakes, suspension, tires, transmission, wiring, lighting, connectors, and charging system.
• Lead the troubleshooting of complex faults in controllers, motors, BMS, chargers, and wiring using multimeters, diagnostic equipment, and manufacturer software.
• Ensure pre-delivery inspection (PDI) before any new vehicle is handed over to the customer.
• Validate that each repair has been properly completed before returning the vehicle to the customer.
• Manage the warranty process with the manufacturer, including fault logging, photos, technical reports, and parts returns.
• Manage parts and consumables stock, set minimum levels, and recommend reorders.
• Keep the inventory of workshop tools and equipment updated.
• Maintain the history of each vehicle and battery in the management system.
• Produce weekly and monthly reports on fleet availability, recurring faults, repair times, and costs.
• Explain diagnostics, deadlines, and costs to customers, and provide technical support to the sales team.
• Identify patterns of recurring faults and suggest product, process, and customer training improvements.
• Enforce electrical safety standards, ensuring insulation before handling batteries and high-current systems.
• Ensure the proper use of PPE and the presence of fire-fighting equipment designed for lithium batteries.
• Keep the workshop clean, organized, and compliant with waste management regulations.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with hands-on workshop experience and the ability to train on the ground. This is not a desk job: you will lead the team and be accountable for repair quality and the safety of personnel working on lithium batteries.

Épsilon Mobilidade values candidates with experience in two- or three-wheeled electric vehicles.

What Épsilon Mobilidade offers

• A technical leadership role coordinating the workshop and maintenance team.
• Workshop-based work with travel to stations in Maputo and Matola.
• Work may include weekends and extended hours during operational peaks, according to company policy.
• PPE and fire-fighting equipment suitable for lithium batteries.
• Salary and benefits package to be defined based on your experience, aligned with current labor law.

What you will learn here

You will learn to coordinate a technical maintenance team: planning rosters, managing stock and warranties, generating reports, and training technicians in electrical circuit diagnostics.
