Free Word CV Template for Experienced Professionals
Free experienced CV template in Word, pre-filled with a complete example: customize each section with measurable results and download for free.

If you have worked for a year or more — retail, office, construction, customer service — your CV needs a different structure: professional experience at the center, with results for each role. The experienced CV template from Guia Inademy comes pre-filled with a complete example so you can see exactly how each section looks when done right, and can be downloaded for free in Word (.docx) or opened in Google Docs.
The advantage of a template with sample data is that you aren't writing in the dark. You see the profile of an operations manager with eight years of experience, see how three jobs link together, and see how a result with numbers ("reduced stockouts from 9% to 3% in 18 months") changes the weight of a line. You replace example with example, and the document adapts to your story.
The short answer
- Download the .docx file below and open it in Word, Word Online, or Google Docs.
- Replace the sample data — name, companies, dates, results — with your own, section by section.
- List your most recent experience first, with three to five lines per job and numbers wherever available.
- Keep your CV to a maximum of two pages if you have more than five years of experience; one page is enough for less.
- Export as a PDF and use it to apply on Inademy, where creating a profile is free.

What's inside the template
The file opens with a note at the top: "Sample data — replace everything with your real details before sending." Below it, the sample CV uses a realistic Mozambican career path, featuring companies, dates, and concrete results. The sections are:
- Full name — the sample uses a common Mozambican name; replace it with yours while keeping the visual prominence.
- Personal details — city (Maputo, in the sample), phone with WhatsApp, email. A compact single line, without a full address.
- Professional summary — three lines summarizing your career: field, years of experience, and sectors worked in. It is your elevator pitch in writing.
- Work experience — three jobs in reverse chronological order (most recent first): Operations Manager at a digital platform, Store Manager at a retail company, and Shop Supervisor in Matola. Each includes start and end dates, along with two to three lines covering duties and achievements.
- Education — Bachelor's degree in Business Management, including the institution and graduation year. A single line; your experience does the talking.
- Skills — a short list separated by bullet points: operations management, customer service, team training, inventory, advanced Excel, POS systems, PowerPoint, languages (Portuguese, English, Changana).
- Driver's license — category and whether you own a vehicle; a small section that is invaluable for field-based roles.
- References — the reliable line: "Available upon request."

How to adapt each section with results using numbers
This is where most experienced CVs lose momentum: they describe duties instead of results. The difference is clear in the template itself — the line “Platform operations management: candidate and company support” states the role, but “Organised processes to respond in less than 24 hours” shows what improved. Use this method for every job:
- Look for numbers already in your memory: how many people you led, how many transactions per day, how many stores, how many clients, how many deliveries. Even rough estimates are worth more than zero.
- Turn duties into before-and-after statements. “Responsible for stock” becomes “reduced stockouts from 9% to 3% in 18 months”, as in the template example.
- Quantify teams and scale: “team of 6 people”, “daily management of 3 stores”. The template uses this format across all sample jobs.
- Avoid fake precision. If you do not know the exact number, write an honest order of magnitude (“over 50 customer interactions per day”); lies with decimal places get noticed.
The profile section of the experienced CV template also adapts: swap “operations manager” for your exact role and the sectors for your own. Anyone reading a hundred CVs a week notices in ten seconds whether the profile was tailored for the job or copied from elsewhere.
And a rule of thumb: each job takes two to four lines, and at least one of them should contain a number — time, money saved, people, or volume. Dates are also written out in full in the template (“March 2021 to February 2024”), which avoids confusion between date formats.
Mistakes that weaken an experienced CV
With years of experience behind you, the most common missteps are not down to a lack of content — they come from excess. You see this across applications in every sector:
- Listing every role from the start — ten jobs across three pages bury what matters. Beyond ten years of experience, condense older roles into one line each.
- Repeating the same verb on every line — “responsible for”, “responsible for”, “responsible for”. Vary them: organized, reduced, trained, implemented, negotiated.
- Hiding numbers out of modesty — “improved sales” says nothing; “grew store sales by 15% at Christmas” does.
- Glossing over date gaps unprepared — a blank year between jobs will be asked about in an interview; if you did something in that period (training, a personal project), write it down.
- Generic profile summary — “competent and proactive professional” reveals neither your field nor your years of experience. The template example shows the right format: field + years + sectors.
- Sending the exact same CV to every vacancy — your profile and the first three lines of experience should mirror what the job requires; the rest stays as is.

When to use this template
This CV template works best when you have a formal — or long-term and verifiable — role to describe: internal promotions, contracted employment, or continuous work for the same company. The management example (operations and retail) serves as a blueprint for any supervisory, retail, or service sector; if your career is technical, the structure remains identical — only the action verbs and key achievements change.
This is not the right template if you are looking for your first job — in that case, education and practical projects need to come first, and there is a dedicated template for that. If all your experience is informal, working for different employers without formal registration, that same template shows how to present those references accurately without fabricating job titles.
For technical roles (driver, operator, maintenance technician), the CV for technical professions highlights licenses and certificates. When applying for a position at an NGO or international company that requires a European format, the Europass template is available in the complete index of CV templates in Mozambique, where you can choose by field and experience level.
From CV to Application
A strong CV opens the door; the cover letter closes it in your favor. For job openings where applications are submitted via email, a short ten-line letter — who you are, the results you deliver, and why that specific company — sets you apart from the majority who only send an attachment. The guide on cover letters for job vacancies in Mozambique offers ready-to-use templates.
Within your CV, also check the details that often cause confusion: photo (only if requested), place of birth, references, and documents. The article on what to include in a CV: photo, ID, place of birth, and references clarifies each case. Leave no blank fields: each one can become a question in the interview.

Where this information comes from
The template structure and the examples in this guide follow the same rules as the Inademy Guide articles cited in the text — CV errors, cover letter, mandatory content — and reflect what job postings published on the platform most demand from experienced candidates. The file is maintained by the Guide team; the personal data that appears in it is fictitious, created solely to show correct completion.
Frequently asked questions
Is the sample data in the template from a real person?
No. The name, companies, and results are fictional, created to show how each section looks when filled out. The note at the top of the file reminds you to replace everything before sending — and the notice disappears once you delete the sample lines.
Should I list the salary I earned in previous jobs?
No. Previous salaries do not belong on a CV and can anchor your next offer to a low figure. That conversation happens during the interview, if there is one.
How many jobs should I list on my CV?
The last four or five, in reverse chronological order. Very old or irrelevant jobs are condensed into a single line or removed. The criterion is simple: if the experience doesn't help strengthen this application, it takes up space from one that does.
Does it work in Google Docs just like in Word?
Yes. You upload the .docx file to Google Drive, open it with Docs, and all sections keep their formatting. To send it, download it as a PDF (File → Download → PDF Document) so the formatting arrives intact.
Is the template suitable for applications in English?
The structure yes, but there is a dedicated English template, with sections already translated, in the Guide's template index. Using the right format saves rework and avoids mixing languages in the same document.
