As Compliance Advisor for the FADM READY project, you will work from Maputo, with travel when necessary. You will verify whether the project's finances, procurement, logistics, and human resources comply with internal rules and donor requirements. It is a control role: identifying risks before they turn into losses.
You have until October 23, 2026, to apply. Salary: negotiable.
Context: Fundação Ariel Glaser is implementing the FADM READY project in Mozambique, funded by the United States Government via the Department of Defense. The work is carried out in partnership with the FADM (Armed Defence Forces of Mozambique), aimed at strengthening institutional and operational capacity that contributes to the readiness and sustainability of military healthcare.
Your role, step by step:
You will develop the project's compliance and risk management plan and help put it into practice, ensuring that institutional policies, internal procedures, the agreement, and donor terms are respected.
You conduct regular reviews of financial processes, procurement, logistics, human resources, and other critical areas to verify that internal controls are functioning and supporting documents are accurate.
You map and assess the risks faced by the project — financial, operational, administrative, and compliance-related — and propose mitigation measures; you track the implementation of recommendations from audits and reviews.
You assist in preparing for audits, financial reviews, and donor assessments, and ensure that segregation of duties and defined authorization and approval thresholds are strictly observed.
You help prevent, detect, and report cases of fraud, conflicts of interest, corruption, or other irregularities, and confirm that all expenditures are eligible and reasonable.
You maintain up-to-date risk and non-compliance registers, as well as tracking logs for recommendations and corrective actions; and you produce compliance reports for Management and, where applicable, for the donor.
You train and raise awareness among teams on ethics and compliance topics, internal control, and fraud prevention; and you promptly report any significant issues identified to Management, working with independence and confidentiality.
Who the Foundation is looking for: someone with integrity, ethical and independent, who takes professional responsibility seriously, maintains confidentiality over accessible information, collaborates effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and delivers on time.
The role is based in Maputo, with travel required whenever necessary, and proficiency in Portuguese is essential. English is an advantage, particularly for senior positions and roles involving direct contact with the donor.
